My Life in Self Quarantine

Self Quarantine. It’s a word I’ve been hearing a lot since the Coronavirus pandemic became serious in March.
Now I practiced social distancing extensively when I was still at ASU in Phoenix. But when I made the decision to return home to Illinois last week, things have been very different.
First off, my experience at the airport was definitely different.
“There’s basically nobody here, compared to what there would be here on a normal day,” I said while walking through Terminal 4 at Sky Harbor.
The terminals at both Phoenix Sky Harbor and Chicago O’Hare were virtually empty. But my flight was actually relatively crowded.
"There is a fair amount of people on here," I said while aboard my flight. "Probably about 40 to 50 by a rough estimate.”
I took all the necessary safety precautions, and made it back to an empty O’Hare airport safely.
“Got here safely, and I’m going to go pick up my bags,”I said in Terminal 3 at O'Hare.
After making it back to my house, I have been in self-quarantine, meaning I can’t leave the house for at least 14 days. For the first part, I didn’t leave my room.
So I had to find some interesting ways to entertain myself. Because I brought my Xbox home, I was able to play video games with my little brother Hunter.
He plays in the basement, and I play in my room.
“It’s fun playing a few video games with him," Hunter said. "So that’s been fun.”
After the first week, I’ve been able to move around the house. That means playing catch with my brother and even making my own food!
While I’m looking forward to finishing my quarantine, I’m also looking forward to my 21st birthday at the end of the month.
Oh and I even have schoolwork to do. Alright, well I should probably get back to that.
